The Google Console Pages report has a lot of errors (more than pages in the index). How is this possible? What to do with it?

It should be understood that not all problems in “Pages” report are actually problems. Some reasons for pages not being indexed (such as “redirected pages”) are mostly for information purposes. Actually, you need to analyze each of errors and consider them, maybe there are problems with scanning and indexing of your site. We recommend you reviewing each issue by first reading it in the Google documentation (references are in the console reports).

Tell me, please, if the online store is oriented on sales of goods in the English-speaking zone (USA), then URLs should be spelled out in English or transliteration (Latin in Russian)?

It does not matter what zone the site is in.
If the site is in English – then the URL in English
If the site is in Russian – then URL transliteration

I own several fairly large portals: news sites, catalogues, and message boards. Attendance can reach up to 15,000 per day. All web resources are quite old: 7 to 15 years.

Should we transfer them to the secure https protocol? What will it give us? Please explain the pros and cons of such a switch.

The “protected” icon doesn’t matter much if you don’t have commercial sites. Many users do not look at it at all and do not know about its existence. If the traffic is stable, it is not necessary to switch. Any new resources created immediately made on HTTP, but with non-commercial, without problems working on HTTP, you do not have to hurry with the transition.
